Russell Simmons, CEO of Def Jam records, has signed a two-year, first-look deal with HBO, in which he will develop and create his own projects.
This deal will allow HBO to refuse any ideas that Simmons shares with the program.
Simmons is allowed to sign with another program if HBO refuses to go along with any projects.
This deal reunites Simmons with the same program that helped him launch Def Comedy Jam (1992-97 and 2006-2008).
There are no specifics as to which projects will be made at this time.
