So we’re finally out of that slow month of January. Aside from mediocre movies, we also saw 12 Years A Slave and American Hustle winning Best Pictures at the Golden Globes. We also saw Leonardo DiCaprio take an award home, it wasn’t an Oscar but still..
We’re still in the age of “vampires are cool” I guess because another vampire film is set to be released in the first week of February. The film is called Vampire Academy and it’s just basically a teenage girl version of Blade/Buffy the Vampire. No big names are in this picture.
The LEGO Movie will finally be out and it will feature an all-star cast of voices like Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Banks and more. Superheroes like the Green Lantern, and Batman are expected to make an appearance in the film.
George Clooney’s return to directing/writing/starring will be The Monument’s Men. It’s also another movie about World War II and Nazis as a platoon try to save art masterpieces. Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray and John Goodman also star in the film.
The inevitable reboot of Robocop is here! Not sure if it’s a good thing or not but this time, Joel Kinnaman stars as the futuristic cop. Michael Keaton and Jay Baruchel star alongside the hero cop.
Ahh, film marketing 101 brings you Endless Love in Valentine’s Day. Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde star in a chick flick about two lovers whose parents disagreement with their relationship forces them to become more reckless.
Another film, this time a much more familiar face stars in the movie. Colin Farrell brings you Winter’s Tale. The move about a man who falls in love with a dying woman. Farrell later finds out he has the power to reincarnate people somehow so he uses it to try to save the woman he fell in love with. Russell Crowe and Will Smith star alongside Farrell.
Here’s one last romance film, it’s also a comedy. How do I know it’s a comedy? Kevin Hart stars in it. The movie is About Last Night. That’s also the phrase you use after a one night stand and your partner calls you the next day, right? Well, that’s sort of what this film is about.
Now let’s get back to some action with Pompeii. Pompeii is a film about a gladiator in the ruins of the city of Pompeii. No familiar names star in the movie.
Welcome To Yesterday is not just the usual phrase you hear after time traveling but it also the name of this teen film about a group of teens finding a time machine and what the worse that can happen when a few teens discover this revolutionizing invention? Again, no familiar names in this picture.
Thanks to Mel Gibson’s teaching, filmmakers are just going to go ahead and resurrect (no pun intended) the biblical epics. The Son of God is about none other than Jesus Christ. The film is directed by The Bible‘s Christopher Spencer.
Liam Neeson is back with another hard hitting action film called Non-Stop. Neeson plays an air marshall who is set to save his passengers from a threat he received via text message.Julianne Moore co-stars with Neeson.
