Ninja Turtles and The Guardians of the Galaxy arrive at Sin City (August 2014 film releases)

And just like that, we’re getting ready to wrap up summer and its blockbusters but not after some more Michael Bay.

Aug. 1

Chadwick Boseman returns in yet another biopic, this time he’ll be playing late great soul singer James Brown in the movie Get On Up. The film is of course documenting Brown’s life and his rise to stardom. Dan Aykroyd, Craig Robinson and Viola Davis will join Boseman.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of Vin Diesel’s Fast & Furious 7 side projects as he plays the Monarch Groot. Chris Patt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Dave Bautista is joing Diesel in this Marvel blockbuster.

Aug. 8

Final Destination 5‘s Steven Quale bring you Into the Storm. The film is about a group of high school students documenting the events of the aftermath of a disastrous tornado.

Coming off directing the latest Transformers film, Michael Bay produced the remake of a classic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film is directed by Wrath of Titans‘ Jonathan Liebsmenand stars Megan Fox as April. Jonathan Knoxville, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, and Noel Fisher voice the turtle warriors.

The great Helen Mirren stars in movie about an Indian family who move to France to open a restaurant. The Hundred-Foot Journey is directed by Chocolat‘s Lasse Hallstrom.

Aug. 13

Luke Greenfield brings together Andy Garcia, Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson? Let’s Be Cops is a comedy about two best friends (Johnson and Wayans Jr.) who are struggling in life and (as if it makes any sense) decide to dress up as cops and pretend to be cops.

Aug. 15

The testosterone filled cast is back for a third time. The Expendables 3 stars action heroes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Jet Li,  Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenneger and more and it’s about to go down.

The Giver stars Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes, Meryl Street and…Taylor Swift? Yep. The film about a perfect world with no crime or pain but still the “real” world happens to hurt.

Aug. 22

Nashville‘s R.J. Cutler brings you If I Stay. 

Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez finally bring you the new Sin City. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For stars Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Josh Brolin and Rosario Dawson.

We haven’t had a football movie since Draft Day but thanks to Jesus Christ superstar Jim Caviezel we have When the Games Stands TallThe film is about the real life story of Bob Ladouceur, a High School football coach who took a school through an impressive 151-game winning streak.

Aug. 27

Pierce Brosnan stars in another CIA related film but this time, he is not James Bond. He is the The November Man who is out to seek the Russian president-elect.

Aug. 29

To wrap up the have two thrillers, one of them being As Above, So Below. Two archeologists are in search for treasure below some place in Paris.

The second one is Jessabelle. This one is about a woman who returns to her childhood home to recover from a car accident stumbles upon a spirit who wont let her go.
